Viral Video: A woman making an Instagram reel in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, ended up experiencing a rather troublesome incident when a man on a bike snatched her chain in broad daylight. The snatching incident was caught on camera, the video of which was shared online. The incident, as per reports took place on March 24, meanwhile, the said video went viral, making people speculate all kinds of theories. Most of the netizens believed that the incident was scripted and was knitted to gain likes and views on social media. As per reports, the police have registered a case at the Indirapuram Police Station.

Reportedly, a team has been formed to investigate the matter.

The video was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘SachinGuptaUP’. The post was captioned, “Side effects of REEL- In Ghaziabad district of UP, a woman was getting a REEL made on the road. The bike-riding miscreant came and stole the chain and ran away.”

Taking notice of the matter, the authorities also responded to the incident. “In relation to the said case, a case has been registered under the relevant section at Indirapuram police station. Continuous efforts are being made by forming teams to arrest the accused and recover the goods. Advance legal proceedings are prevalent,” a comment by DCP TRANS HINDON COMMISSIONERATE GHAZIABAD read.

The video, soon after getting shared, went viral on social media and left people reacting. A majority of people speculated that the said incident was scripted with the aim of making the reel go viral, while the rest blamed the cameraperson for not reacting quick enough. The post was shared yesterday and pulled 61K likes from people.

Taking to the comment box, people shared their take. “This may have been done deliberately with the intention of making the reel viral,” a user read. “Now it seems pre-planned, these people can do anything,” said a second person. “To be honest, ye reel viral hota he nahi agar wo chor choti na karta (This reel wouldn’t even go viral if that man wouldn't robbed her),” added a third person.

“Don't know why.. But it's funny,” wrote a fourth person. “The script is good but the number of BIKE has come in the video,” pointed out a fifth user. “No effort was made to catch the miscreant. Meaning it is clearly scripted. Views: Nowadays people are ready to stoop to the lowest level in pursuit of fame,” added another. “The idiot making the reel who couldn't capture the BIKE,” said another.
