Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta launched a new feature on WhatsApp, and its users have a lot to say. Meta recently launched WhatsApp Channels, a new way of connecting with people within the WhatsApp app. The channels are a ‘one-way broadcast tool for admins’, where people will be able to share content with their followers. The feature was launched in India yesterday, September 13. As soon as the feature started reflecting on the app, people started reacting to it. The internet was soon flooded with memes and reactions, where most people sounded confused about the new channels. Some appeared excited, while others rejected the change. Some started comparing WhatsApp with other social media platforms and called the feature unnecessary.

Taking to the internet, people shared their take on the new feature. Most people were left confused about the new addition to the app, while others welcomed the feature with open arms.

“The Updates & Channels on WhatsApp is a better update so far,” a user said.

“So WhatsApp has channels now. We'll see how it goes,” added a second.

“Real Madrid already have 4.5M followers on the new WhatsApp Channels feature, even more followers than WhatsApp (4.4M),” said a third.

“Whatsapp please stop trying so hard ffs. Every single update makes the app experience worse. I don't care about channels, this is not Slack or Discord Do the people who make these decisions ever talk to a common user?” asked a fourth person.

“Official WhatsApp channels launched globally. Channels added in the new updates tab” said a fifth person.
