World Athletics Championships 2023: Ruling the Javelin throw field yet again, India’s Golden Arm Neeraj Chopra qualified for the World Athletics Championships 2023 final after a massive 88.77m throw in Budapest, Hungary. With 85.50m being the qualifying mark for the 2024 Paris Olympics, the star player has also qualified for next year’s Paris Olympics. Soon after the magnificent throw, his name started to trend on social media as Indians could not keep calm and celebrated his excellent performance.

The star player topped Group A in the qualifying round, while no one else from the group was even able to cross the automatic qualifying mark of 83.00m. 37 participating javelin throwers are required to give their best to secure a spot among the top 12.

Taking to the internet, people celebrated Chopra’s throw and also congratulated the man for qualifying for next year’s Olympics.

“The golden arm Neeraj Chopra #NeerajChopra,” a user said.

“Neeraj Chopra on Friday qualified for the 2024 PARIS Olympics with a big throw of 88.77m in his first attempt,” said a second.

The group of 37 javelin throwers has been split into two groups. India's DP Manu has secured a spot in the top 12 with an 81.31m throw. He played from Group A. Another Indian, Kishore Jena from Group B, has also secured a spot for the finals, with an 80.55m throw. The final will be played on Sunday, August 27.

Apart from the three Indians, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem has also bagged a spot with a magnificent 86.76m throw. Chopra’s personal best so far is 89.94m, which he reached at the Stockholm Diamond League in 2022. His today’s 88.77m throw has become his season best for now.
