Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, reports that Pakistan would be mediating talks between the United States and Iran have sparked strong reactions online. Laura Loomer, a far-right American political activist has criticised Pakistan’s role and questioned its involvement in the negotiations. She is known as a strong supporter of US President Donald Trump and often seen as a prominent figure on the extreme end of the MAGA movement.

Loomer Criticises Pakistan's Role In Iran-US Talks

In a post on X, Loomer made strong allegations against Pakistan, calling it a "terrorist state." Opposing Pakistan's role as a mediator, Laura said, "Ah that’s exactly what we need. The terrorist Pakistani government negotiating an end to a war with another Islamic terrorist regime." She highlighted incidents where Pakistani citizens attacked US consulates, putting American staff in danger in the country. Loomer slammed Pakistan for negotiating with another Islamic regime while accusing it of supporting terrorism.

She also mentioned Pakistan's recent threats to use nuclear weapons against India. "Ah that’s exactly what we need. The terrorist Pakistani government negotiating an end to a war with another Islamic terrorist regime. This is the same Pakistan whose citizens stormed the US consulates in Pakistan weeks ago, where they attempted to murder American consulate employees. Pakistan is a terrorist state. They just threatened to nuke India last week," Loomer wrote.

Pakistan To Facilitate Talks Between US And Iran

Her response came as reports suggest Pakistan is helping facilitate communication between the US and Iran to ease tensions in the ongoing conflict. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday, suggested that Pakistan is facilitating talks for a "comprehensive settlement" of the ongoing conflict between Iran and the US. He wrote on X, "Pakistan welcomes and fully supports ongoing efforts to pursue dialogue to end the WAR in Middle East, in the interest of peace and stability in region and beyond. Subject to concurrence by the US and Iran, Pakistan stands ready and honoured to be the host to facilitate meaningful and conclusive talks for a comprehensive settlement of the ongoing conflict."
