A man with illegal possession of a shotgun and handgun was arrested on Saturday before ex-president Donald Trump's rally by sheriff's deputies near Coachella, California. Vem Miller, the 49-year-old suspect, was taken into custody, and he was booked on possession of a loaded firearm and high-capacity magazine.

The US secret service clarified that there was no harm to Trump or any of his rally's attendees. They later claimed that it was not possible to know what the intent of the accused was. Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, however, emphasised that the officers might have protected Trump from a third assassination attempt. Bianco, while providing details, claimed that Miller carried multiple passports and IDs with different names, which were unregistered.

The federal authorities, in their statement, assured that an investigation is ongoing and also expressed their gratitude towards the local partners.
“While no federal arrest has been made at this time, the investigation is ongoing. The US Attorney’s Office, US Secret Service, and FBI extend their gratitude to the deputies and local partners who helped ensure the safety of last night’s events.”

"Absolutely no way that any of us are going to truly know what was in his head. If you're asking me right now, I probably did have deputies that prevented the third assassination attempt," Bianco said in a press conference. Bianco is known to be a hardcore Trump supporter who also addressed the crowd in Coachella on Saturday.

There have been two attempts of assassination on Donald Trump already as he is campaigning for the president post of the US for the second time. Earlier, there was an attempt of assassination in Pennsylvania in which a bullet grazed Trump's right ear while he was addressing the crowd, and a second, aborted attempt at his Florida golf course. Security around Donald Trump was heavily increased after previous assassination attempts.
