Renowned British sports cars manufacturer, Lotus, is set to make its grand entrance into the Indian automotive market later this year. Known for making lightweight performance vehicles, Lotus also has a rich Formula 1 legacy as it has won seven world championships so far. Exclusive Motors in New Delhi will be the sole distributor for Lotus in India when it launches its cars later this year. The British brand will initially be offering the Emira and the Eletre for the Indian roads.

Lotus Emira
The Emira, a super-fast and lightweight sports car, will be one of the first models of Lotus to be seen in India. It offers two powertrain options: a 365 bhp, 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine from AMG, and a more powerful 406 bhp, 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine from Toyota.
The Emira is distinguishable from previous Lotus cars in terms of enhanced comfort and practicality, featuring amenities like door pockets, cup holders, digital instrumentation, and a central touchscreen for a more modern driving experience.

Lotus Eletre
Along with introducing its classic sports cars in India, Lotus will also be bringing its EV model, the Eletre. This all-electric SUV delivers an impressive power output of 611 bhp for the Eletre and Eletre S models, while the R model exceeds them in performance by generating an astonishing power output of 918 bhp. All of these models are built with a 109 kWh battery and an 800V system capacity, capable of rapid charging up to 350 kWh.

Expected Prices
Post the brand’s arrival in India, the Lotus Emira and Lotus’s EV Eletre will be priced remarkably with prices ranging from Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 3 crore.
