Ford India Comeback: US based manufacturer Ford appears to be making a strategic return to the Indian market with its highly anticipated successor to the EcoSport. Recent leaks of patents and speculations indicate that Ford is poised to unveil a new SUV tailored for emerging markets like India and South America. This offering was initially intended for launch in collaboration with Mahindra, and is generating considerable buzz among automotive enthusiasts. In terms of competition, Ford's upcoming offering will compete with rivals such as the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon. Despite stiff competition, Ford aims to carve out a niche for itself in the fiercely competitive SUV segment.

New Ford EcoSport Compact SUV - Design  

Drawing inspiration from Ford's latest designs in both the American and Chinese markets, the upcoming SUV is expected to showcase a striking front grille and distinctive stacked LED daytime running lights. Its exterior design looks rugged, featuring black wheel arch cladding and sculpted lower doors for a more robust appearance.

Inside the cabin, significant enhancements are anticipated to address previous criticisms of the EcoSport's basic interior materials and limited features. The new model is rumored to boast a plethora of modern amenities, including a prominent infotainment touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera and wireless charging capability. Furthermore, seamless integration with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also expected to increase its desirability among consumers.

The new SUV is likely to be built on Ford's VX-772 platform, offering a choice of petrol and diesel powertrains. Speculations suggest the inclusion of a potent 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, highlighting Ford's commitment to performance and efficiency. There are also rumors circulating that Ford may opt for an all-Ford powertrain and platform configuration, further enhancing the vehicle's appeal.

Ford Comeback In India
