Political fervor is intensifying over the Bihar elections, with all parties busy trying to win over voters. Amidst this, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has made a major election promise concerning the 'Jeevika Didis' (women members of Bihar's Jeevika livelihood program).

He stated that if the 'Mahagathbandhan' (Grand Alliance) government is formed, the Jeevika Didis will be given the status of government employees. Additionally, the interest on their existing loans will be waived, and they will be provided with interest-free loans. He also made several other promises.

Tejashwi Yadav said, "We had previously made a historic announcement that one person from every family without a government job would be given one. Today, we are making another historic announcement. The level of exploitation that Jeevika Didis have faced under this government is perhaps unprecedented."

He added, "During our tours, we traveled through many districts and met groups of JeevikaDidis everywhere. We have immense respect for all Jeevika Didis, and it is our responsibility to ensure they receive their rights and dignity."

Government Employee Status

Making his agenda for the polls clear, Tejashwi Yadav said, "All of you are aware that injustice has been done to the Jeevika Didis under this government. We have decided that all the Jeevika CM (Community Mobilisers) Didis will be made permanent and will be given the status of government employees. We will also increase their salary to Rs 30,000 per month. This is not an ordinary announcement. This has been the demand of Jeevika Didis for years," he added.

Tejashwi Yadav announced that the future Mahagathbandhan government will waive the interest on loans taken by Jeevika Didis and will be given interest-free credit for the next two years.

Promise Of Rs 2,000 Monthly Allowance

"Any work that happens in villages or cities is not possible without Jeevika Didis. However, they don't get anything. This is why it is our responsibility since this government doesn't cater to them. The suffering of people doesn't affect the corrupt officials and government," Yadav said.

The RJD leader said, "The interest on all loans taken by Jeevika Didis will be waived. They will also be provided with interest-free loans for two years. Furthermore, the Didis of the Jeevika groups will be given a monthly allowance of Rs 2,000 for executing other government-related work."

Not only this, a promise was made to provide the benefits of the 'Maai-Bahin Yojana' separately.
