In view of the ongoing Pitrupaksha Mela, special arrangements have been made for passengers at Punpun Ghat Halt in Patna district. From Saturday, temporary halts for 10 pairs of trains have been introduced at the station. Each train will stop for two minutes until September 21 to facilitate the convenience of pilgrims.

The trains included in this arrangement are:

  • Patna-Bhabua Road-Patna Intercity Express
  • Patna-Barkakana-Patna Palamu Express
  • Singrauli-Patna-Singrauli Express

  • Islampur-Hatia-Islampur Express
  • Purnia Court-Hatia-Purnia Court Express 
  • Patna-Ranchi-Patna Jan Shatabdi Express 
  • Patna-Dhanbad-Patna Ganga Damodar Express
  • Rajgir-Varanasi-Rajgir Budhpurnima Express
  • Patliputra-Gaya-Patliputra Express
  • Charlapalli-Patna-Charlapalli Express

Additionally, the Patna-Charlapalli Special and Patna-Gaya Special trains will also have a two-minute halt at Punpun Ghat.

Abhinav Siddharth, Senior DCM of the Danapur Railway Division, said instructions have been issued to provide information and make announcements at all station ticket counters regarding these trains. Crowd control measures have been implemented to ensure passengers face no inconvenience.

Meanwhile, under the guidance of DDU Divisional Railway Manager Uday Singh Meena, the railway administration has also made special preparations at Gaya Junction for the convenience and safety of pilgrims. 

A 24-hour medical camp was inaugurated on platform number one by Dr Sandeep Kumar, Chief Medical Superintendent of the Railway Sub-divisional Hospital.

Several officials were present during the inauguration, including Gaya Junction Station Superintendent Vinod Kumar Singh, Station Superintendent-2 Mithlesh Kumar, Commercial Supervisor General Shailesh Kumar, Railway Police Station House Officer Rajesh Kumar Singh, and RPF Inspector Banarsi Yadav.

Dr Sandeep Kumar stated that medical officers, nursing staff, and paramedics will be on duty round the clock. Free medicine and first aid will be provided to passengers. 

Station Manager Vinod Kumar Singh added that the number of passengers rises significantly during the Mela, and continuous medical support has been ensured to handle any emergencies.
