Bihar News: In a significant boost to Bihar's road infrastructure, ten road projects across eight districts have been approved under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF). Sharing the information, Road Construction Minister Naveen said that the roads will be redeveloped at an estimated cost of Rs 675 crore in eight districts of Bihar, including Buxar, Saran, Nawada, Madhubani, Bhagalpur, Araria, Purnea, and East Champaran.

He further stated that the road projects were recommended by the State government and have received approval from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. According to the plan, existing roads will be strengthened and widened along with the construction of a new bridge, Jagran.com reported.

Key Road Infrastructure Projects Approved Under CRIF In Bihar: Details

- Araria District: A 30-kilometre road will be constructed from Jaynagar (Bhargama block) to Ghurna (Narpatganj block) on the India-Nepal border.

- Buxar District: Under the plan, the Chausa-Gola-Kochas section (up to Basahi bridge) of SH-17 will be widened and strengthened. In addition to this, a high-level bridge will be constructed at a cost of Rs 117.49 crore.

- Saran District: The 12-kilometre stretch of SH-104 under Taraiya Assembly Constituency will be widened at a cost of Rs 48.68 crore.
Nawada District: Authorities will widen and strengthen 11.6 km of road from Nawada Station Road to Gosaibigha, Jahana, Lakhmohana, and Supaul at a cost of Rs 45 crore.

- Madhubani District: 12.5 km of Ramnagar-Motipur Khaira road will be widened at an estimated cost of Rs 72 crore.

- Bhagalpur District: Widening and strengthening of 17.14 km road from Bhagalpur to Kotwali via Gora Dih at an estimated cost of Rs 80 crore. Additionally, a 4.5 km road connecting the Bhagalpur-Hansdiha main road (SH-19) to NH-80 will be constructed at an investment of Rs 56.70 crore.

- East Champaran District: Under the road infrastructure development plan, two key roads will be widened, including 11 km of the Dhaka-Laukhan road and 15.55 km of the Narigir-Champapur-Adapur road at a cost of Rs 42.50 and Rs 47.50 crore.

- Purnea District:  At an investment of Rs 29.48 crore, a 11.2 km stretch from Ghamdaha to Kuari will be widened.

Minister Naveen said, “These initiatives mark a significant step toward improving road connectivity and boosting regional development across the state.”
