Stock market Closing:  Indian Equity benchmark indices ended the day trade in gain despite negative global cues. Sensex closed at 72,996.31, up by 0.73% or 526.02, while NSE's Nifty 50 ended the day trade up by 118.95 points or 0.54% at 22,123.65.

Top Gaines and Loosers

The stocks of Maruti, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, Titan, Mahindra & Mahindra, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IndusInd Bank, and Larsen & Toubro were the top gainers.

While, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Nestle, Tata Motors, and HCL Technologies, were among the top losers among Sensex.

Global Market

In the Asian markets, Tokyo traded in positive territory, while Seoul, Shanghai, and Hong Kong ended the day's trading session in negative territory. Meanwhile, European markets were trading in a mixed manner. On Tuesday, Wall Street ended lower.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) turned out to be net buyers on Tuesday as they purchased equities worth Rs 10.13 crore, according to exchange data.

On Tuesday, the benchmark BSE closed at 72,470.30, down by 361.64 points or 0.50 percent. The NSE Nifty fell 92.05 points or 0.42 percent to 22,004.70.
