Afghanistan vs Bangladesh: After getting thrashed in the 3-match T20I series, Afghanistan inflicted a 3-0 whitewash against Bangladesh courtesy of a massive 200-run win in the third and final ODI of the three-match series on Tuesday. After putting up 293/9 in 50 overs, Afghanistan bowled out Bangladesh for a meagre 93 runs in 27.1 overs. Afghan pacer Bilal Sami picked up his maiden 5-wicket-haul for 33 runs in 7.1 overs, with Rashid Khan picking up 3 for 12 in six overs.

Notably, the win over Bangladesh on Tuesday helped Afghanistan become the only side to claim a win by 200 or more runs at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

South Africa held the record for the biggest win in the stadium as they triumphed over Ireland by 174 runs in a 50-over match in October 2024.

The Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi has seen 15 different teams play against each other so far.

Afghanistan registered their biggest win in ODIs by 232 runs against Zimbabwe at their own den in December 2024 at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.

Here's what the captain said after the match:

Hashmatullah Shahidi, the Afghanistan captain said, "Very happy with the performance of the team. We were struggling with fast bowlers previously, Bilal bowled really well and Omarzai bowled really well all series and in the future this will make our team balance stronger. We do not get many opportunities to play red-ball cricket and we are all raring to go against the Zimbabwe next."

Mehidy Hasan, the stand-in skipper for Bangladesh said, "We have to accept that we have not been playing well. They are a good bowling unit and we need to handle ourselves better with the bat. We are going to play against West Indies later and we are a bit worried about our batting. We have to take responsibility at the top of the order and need to see how we can get better."
