IND vs AUS: Australia's star all-rounder Aaron Hardie has pulled out of the upcoming Australia A series against India owing to a shoulder injury, and this has increased the list of players who would be giving this series a miss owing to injuries. Another all-rounder hailing from Victoria, Will Sutherland, would be replacing Hardie in the side from the second two-day matches in Lucknow.

Sutherland is already part of the one-day team and would also be seen in action from the second game in Lucknow. Hardie's replacement in the one-day team would be revealed soon.

As per ESPNCricinfo, “It is hoped that Hardie will be able to recover in time for the early rounds of Sheffield Shield matches — Western Australia’s opening game is against New South Wales at the WACA on October 4."

Hardie has become the latest player to get injured and has joined the likes of Lance Morris, Brody Couch, and fast bowler Callum Vidler.

Hardie is more of an all-rounder than a bowler and was supposed to bolster Australia's fast bowling attack for this series.

Hardie was last seen in action in the T20I and ODI series against the West Indies and South Africa, where he struggled and was also omitted from Australia's squad for the T20I series against New Zealand.

His availability for the white-ball series against India would depend on his recovery.

Besides him, the visitors had already suffered another blow as Vilder and Morris were also ruled out from the white-ball series and Couch from the red-ball series, which would begin next week.

Vilder had sustained a partial stress fracture, Couch had picked up a side strain, and Morris would be staying out of cricket for a year owing to a back surgery.

Australia's star fast bowler Pat Cummins has pulled out of the white-ball series against India and New Zealand after suffering from a lumbar bone stress injury.

Cummins had admitted that he would be devastated if he were ruled out of the first Ashes Test in Western Australia.

Australia A will lock horns with India A for two unofficial Tests and three unofficial ODIs.
