Mohammed Shami came up with an update on his recovery journey after undergoing a surgery for his ankle injury as he remains out of cricketing action.
Shami took to social media on Sunday, April 7 and shared a message of determination and expressed his eagerness to return to the field as soon as possible.

"Back on track and hungry for success. The road may be tough, but the destination is worth it," Shami captioned the post that featured himself on crutches.

Shami, who underwent the surgery in February, remained out of action in the ongoing IPL 2024 and potentially the T20 World Cup scheduled to be played in June.

The star pacer has been out of action since the ODI World Cup 2023 at home where he finished as the leading wicket-taker.
He missed the T20Is against Australia and subsequently the Test series against South Africa and England respectively.
The 33-year-old has had a tough time lately having dealt with injury issues, undergoing various surgical procedures.
Initially he suffered a heel issue for which he underwent a surgery in February but just when he was in the next phase of his healing proccess, the duration of his absence extended beyond IPL and was ruled out of the T20 WC due to the long recovering proccess.
With no certain date of his return to the field, BCCI secretary Jay Shah hinted the comeback of speedster could possibly be witnessed during India's home series against Bangladesh in September 2024.
Shami's recent massive success was full on display last year as he set ODI World Cup on fire last year despite missing the first few matches of the tournament.
In seven matches he played, Shami ended up taking 14 wickets at an average of 10.71 and help the side reach the final where they suffered the defeat aganst Australia.
Shami also had a remarkable campaign in the IPL 2023 while playing for Gujarat Titans as he ended up winning the Purple Cap with most wickets in the tournament, finding 28 scalps in 17 matches.
