Ireland Cricket Team vs England Cricket Team Match Scorecard: England's Jordan Cox made a significant return to international cricket, as he smashed a quickfire fifty despite a knee injury to lead England to a six-wicket victory over Ireland and secure a 2-0 series win at a full-capacity crowd on Sunday, as per a report by Reuters. The 24-year-old made a comeback to the international side after a year as he struck 55 runs off 35 balls while batting at number four, aiding his team in successfully chasing down a modest target of 155 with 17 balls remaining.
Interestingly, Cox suffered an injury while catching a ball, which affected his knee, leading him to exit the field for treatment. However, Cox made a return with the bat as England were left precariously at 33-2.
Cox made his unexpected return on the back of his outstanding performance in The Hundred, where he was both the top scorer and named player of the series.

England had previously won the first game by successfully chasing down 197 runs, while the second match was abandoned due to rain. By concluding the series 2-0, it marked Jacob Bethell’s first trophy as England’s youngest captain in any format at just 21 years old.
"I couldn't have dreamed it any better. The rained out game was unfortunate but to come out 2-0 winners in my first series as captain is a great feeling," Bethell told TNT Sports.
"We were nice and aggressive throughout the whole week."
England Spinners Dominate
Ireland had built a platform through Ross Adair (33) and Harry Tector (28) at the top of the order but they crumbled against England's spin twins Adil Rashid (3-29) and Liam Dawson (2-9).

Jamie Overton also picked up two wickets in one over to leave the hosts reeling at 58-4 but Gareth Delany played a cameo in the middle order to finish unbeaten on 48 off 29 balls.
"Credit to Ireland, they bowled well defending 150-odd," said Rashid, who was named the player of the match.
"You've got to adapt to the ground, wherever you go. I thought as a group we did that really well."
