ENG vs SA T20I: In a milestone achievement in T20 International cricket, the England national cricket team scripted history by becoming the first team to score over 300 runs against a full-member nation.

In a stunning display of power-hitting, Phil Salt directed England's charge with a record-breaking 141 runs off just 60 balls - the highest individual score by an English batter in T20 Internationals.

The onslaught started with Jos Buttler's explosive 83 off a brisk 30, setting the platform for the terrific ball-striking display of England's massive total of 304/2 against South Africa in the second T20I at Old Trafford.

In reply, South Africa's bowling effort was woefully insufficient, leaving them dependent on an excellent batting performance to chase down England's assessment of 304. However, the Proteas were incapable of keeping momentum with the needed run rate and were bowled out for 158 in 16.1 overs.

Earlier, England broke their own record for most runs in the first six overs with a blistering 100. Boosting their superiority, they had gathered the highest score in all T20 internationals at the 10-over mark - 166 for the loss of just one wicket.

Salt slammed a blistering century in just 39 deliveries, surpassing Liam Livingstone's previous England record of reaching three figures in 42 balls. He did not stop there, he went on to better his own previous highest score for the team, ending with an unbeaten 141.

Phil Salt, who bagged the Player of the Match award, said, "That was really good fun. A personal milestone, but the fact that we got 300 and won by such a big margin, you can't ask for much more. Sometimes, you know, I'll pick days where I want to jump-start someone, just because the mood sort of takes me, so it's a bit of a balancing act, it's a double-edged sword. Everyone knows it's a good wicket. Always knew PowerPlay was going to be important."
