ICC Test Rankings: England's star batter Harry Brook has become the new No.1 Test batter as per the latest ICC Test rankings. Brook has replaced fellow compatriot Joe Root as the No.1 batter, to become the men's No.1 Test batter for the first time ever in his international career.
The youngster also surpassed the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who had 898 rating points, which was the 34th highest for all the Test batters. He is now just a point ahead of Joe Root post the first two Test matches against New Zealand.
Joe Root, who has been the No.1 Test batter nine times in his international career, reclaimed the pole position earlier this year by dismissing Kane Williamson.

Harry Brook has performed consistently in the longest format. He had scored 2280 runs after playing in 23 Test matches at a brilliant average of 61.62 and has scored eight centuries till now.
He has scored 1099 runs and that also includes four centuries, after playing in 11 Test matches this year. During the three-match Test series against New Zealand, Brook scored 171 runs in the series opener and then continued his sublime form in the second Test match as well, where he scored 123 and 55 runs during both innings. Joe Root, at the same time, had smashed a century after playing in four innings against New Zealand.
Both these batters would be fighting for ending the year as No.1 batter when England will lock horns with New Zealand for the third and the last Test match, which will be held in Hamilton later this week.
Australia's star batter Travis Head and South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma have re-entered the top 10 Test batters rankings after making significant contributions with the bat for their teams whereas ex-No.1 Test batter Marnus Labuschagne jumped to 13th positions in these rankings.
Head ripped apart India's bowling lineup and helped Australia win the second Test match by 10 wickets in Adelaide. He had scored a match-winning knock of 140 runs off 140 balls and took the team across the line.
