Joe Root Eyes Sachin Tendulkar's Record

In Test Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar has scored 15,921 runs in 200 matches, whereas Root has already scored 14,278 runs in 169 matches. With England slated to play 10 Test matches through August 2027, Root is expected to inch closer to Sachin's record. Root has scored over 2000 runs in 2026 and 2026 so far. At that rate, if Root scores 1,644 runs over the next two years, he will surpass Sachin Tendulkar's world record for most Test runs.

Joe Root's Career Glory

Since 2021, Joe Root has scored more than 1000 runs in a calendar year thrice. This year, he has already scored 1418 runs, which includes his historic 41st Test century during the Ashes series in January.
