India national cricket team vs New Zealand cricket team, 1st Test: The first day of the series opener between India and New Zealand was washed out and then the toss finally happened, where Rohit Sharma won and chose to bat first under overcast conditions. This decision didn't work in their favor as the Men in Blue's top batting lineup was rattled by the New Zealand bowlers.

In the first 12.4 overs, before the match was stopped due to rain interruption, the Rohit Sharma-led side lost three wickets and could score just 13 runs and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal stayed unbeaten on 8 off 37 balls as all the other batters on the other end were getting out and Devon Conway then took a stunning catch while standing at extra cover and dismissed Sarfaraz Khan for a duck.

Tim Southee first dismissed Rohit Sharma for scoring just two runs and then Virat Kohli fell for a nine-ball duck. William O'Rourkee took his wicket.
