IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2025 Super 4: The Men in Blue put up a brilliant performance and thrashed arch-rivals Pakistan once again during their Asia Cup Super 4 match in Dubai on Sunday. They chased down the target of 172 runs on the back of the brilliant performances of openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman as they won the match by six wickets and seven balls remaining.
The Indian openers had stitched a match-winning partnership of 105 runs for the first wicket, and this was their first 100-run partnership in this tournament. These two openers took the Pakistani bowlers to the cleaners with their brilliant stroke play. On one hand, Abhishek played aggressively, whereas Gill scored runs quickly.
Gill had scored a gritty knock of 47 runs off 28 balls, whereas Abhishek had smashed 74 runs off 39 balls, in which he had six fours and five sixes. Gill got out when the Men in Blue had scored 105 runs, whereas Abhishek got out during the 13th over when they had scored 123 runs.
The Pakistani bowlers did take a few wickets, but the partnership for the first wicket had already snatched the game away from Pakistan. Suryakumar Yadav did get out on a duck as Haris Rauf took his wicket at third man. Abrar Ahmed then added Abhishek's brilliant knock as Haris took his catch while standing at long-on. Samson and Tilak, too, made significant contributions, but the former also fell cheaply.
It was Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma who took the team across the line with their 26-run partnership.
The Men in Blue were chasing a target of 172 runs, where Pakistan did well in patches. The Indian fielders had a forgetful outing, dropping four catches. But the bowlers performed brilliantly and made sure that their opponent didn't post a mammoth target, and were asked to chase 172 runs. Sahibzada Farhan had scored 58 runs after getting two reprieves. Shivam Dube was the pick among the bowlers as he registered figures. Spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav also bowled brilliantly, but Jasprit Bumrah had a forgetful outing with the ball as he leaked 45 runs in the 4 overs that he bowled.
