IND vs AUS: Australia's star opener Travis Head, on Friday, said that star India batter Virat Kohli is the greatest white-ball player and that his fellow teammate Rohit Sharma is not far behind. He was also asked about playing against them in the three-match ODI series, beginning later this week.

It's the first time that both Kohli and Rohit will be representing India after winning the 2025 Champions Trophy, and considering their ages, it might be the last time that they will be playing for India in Australia.

“They have been awesome for India, I guess Axar can speak more highly about them than I. But [they are] two quality players, two of the great white-ball players. Virat is probably the greatest white-ball player. Rohit is probably not far behind," Head told reporters in the pre-match conference.

He also heaped praises on Rohit's brilliant record in this format and said that he hopes that both Rohit and Kohli will play in the 2027 World Cup. There's no clarity about this, and that's why it has become debatable in India. Head, who is aware of this fact, was seen giving a cheeky look in the joint press conference.

“As someone who opens the batting in the same format, I have huge regard for what Rohit has been able to do. I am sure they will be missed at some stage, but I think they both are going until 2027, (looking at Axar) — aren’t they? It is great for the game that they are still playing the format," he said.

“They are world-class players. They know what to do, and they are ready to go. They are professionals and they know what to do. They are ready to go," said Axar Patel. “If you speak about their form, they have been preparing well, hence I think they are ready… Everyone has given their fitness Test, they are raring to go now," he said.

Both Kohli and Rohit have brilliant records in this format in Australia. Kohli has scored 1327 runs after playing in 29 matches, which includes five hundred and six half-centuries at a staggering average of 51.04, whereas Rohit Sharma has scored one more run in one extra innings, which includes as many tons, 4 half-centuries, and at an average of 53.12.
