Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, Asia Cup 2025: Sri Lanka's senior all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga was quick to take his revenge during their Asia Cup 2025 Super Fours match against Pakistan at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
Hasaranga made things tough for Pakistan during their run chase despite a promising start as he spun a web in the middle overs, capitalising on the assistance from the surface. The star leg-spinner settled his score with Pakistani star Abrar Ahmed, who had imitated his celebration during Sri Lanka's innings. Abrar dismissed Hasaranga for 15 runs before copying his celebration.
Soon after taking an incredible one-handed catch to send back Fakhar Zaman during Pakistan's run chase, Hasaranga hit back at Abrar by copying his very celebration. He repeated the same gesture after taking his first wicket of the match as he cleaned up Saim Ayub in the 7th over.

The interesting part of the whole instance was that Hasaranga's gesture was aimed right at Abrar towards Pakistan's dug out, and the latter even appeared on the big screen as he laughed it out with a cheeky reaction.

Fans on social media and the crowd at the venue enjoyed the little battle while both teams continue to grind hard for their first win in the Super Fours.
Adding more to his success, Hasaranga ended up dismissing Pakistan's skipper Salman Agha for just 5 runs in the ninth over to put the Men in Green on the back foot. He finished his first spell with two wickets under his belt for just 5 runs in two overs.
Abrar, on the other hand, produced an impactful effort with the ball for Pakistan as he took one wicket for just 8 runs in his four overs. Shaheen Afridi was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets to his name, while Haris Rauf and Hussain Talat found a couple of scalps each.
