Air India has signed a new interline agreement with Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, significantly boosting connectivity for Indian travellers. This partnership opens up easy access to numerous cities across Southeast Asia, North Asia and Australia.

Nature Of The Partnership

This is a unilateral partnership, meaning the benefits apply exclusively to Air India passengers.

Air India Passengers: Can travel on Scoot flights to onward destinations.

Scoot Passengers: Will not be able to book flights on Air India under this specific agreement.

Seamless Travel Experience

The primary advantage for passengers is the convenience of a unified booking process.

Single Ticket: The entire itinerary—from India to the final destination via Singapore—can be booked in a single transaction.

Through Check-in: Passengers flying from Delhi, Mumbai, or Chennai to Singapore will receive boarding passes for both legs of the journey at their initial point of departure.

Baggage Transfer: Checked baggage will be tagged through to the final destination, eliminating the need to re-check bags during the transfer in Singapore.

Expanded Network And Destinations

The agreement adds over 70 cities in 18 countries from Scoot’s network to Air India's reach—destinations where Air India previously had no direct connections. After arriving in Singapore, passengers can fly directly to:

Malaysia: 12 cities including Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Langkawi, Ipoh, Kuantan, Miri, Sibu, Malacca, and Kota Bharu.

Indonesia: Padang and Labuan Bajo.

Thailand: Koh Samui, Chiang Rai, and Chiang Mai.

Vietnam: Nha Trang and Phu Quoc.

Philippines: Davao and Iloilo.

China: Macau.

Current Operations

Currently, Air India operates 49 flights per week from India to Singapore, serving as the feeder for these onward connections.
