Guwahati School Timings:  Schools in Assam's Kamrup Metropolitan district, which mainly covers Guwahati city, will resume their regular schedules starting tomorrow, October 1, 2024, following a dip in temperature due to recent rainfall.

According to an order issued by the District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO), the September 20 notification that had adjusted school timings to 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM due to extreme heatwave conditions has now been withdrawn, as the rain has lowered the temperature.

The latest directive states,"...it is hereby instructed that all Govt./ Provincialised/ Private school under Kamrup Metro district shall follow their regular normal school timing w.e.f 1st October 2024."

Earlier, the DEEO had ordered the closure of all schools in the district from September 24 to 27 due to the heatwave, but the order has now been revoked with the improvement in weather conditions.
