JEE Main 2024 New Rule: For students taking the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main), frisking and biometric attendance will be required, even if they have just used the toilet breaks. These guidelines also apply to officials, staff members, observers, and anybody supplying refreshments during the test.
According to NTA Director Subodh Kumar Singh, this action aims to stop unfair practices and proxy attendance. Even though biometric attendance and entry checks are already part of the screening process, these precautions are being strengthened to ensure a flawless examination with no incidents.
"The move is aimed at ensuring there are no cases of unfair means or proxy attendance. We already have strict mechanisms in place, but the idea is to make the exam completely foolproof to ensure zero incidents," NTA Director Subodh Kumar Singh said, as quoted by news agency PTI.
Candidates currently go through screening and have their biometric attendance recorded at the time of entry. "The same process will be extended to other exams as well in the longer run," Singh added.
