Maharashtra Public Service Commission in 2026: Three Major examinations have been postponed by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). The Commission made this decision in light of recent paper leaks and concerns about question-paper security.
The primary exams for the State Services, Maharashtra Civil Engineering Services, and Maharashtra Group-B (Non-Gazetted) in 2026 have been delayed, according to the Commission. A fresh schedule for the postponed exams will be released separately, according to the Commission.
What MPSC Says About The Postponement Of Examinations?
According to the Commission, the State Services Main Examination 2026 was already scheduled to be held from October 3 to November 1. Along with several students, parents, student organisations, and some respected elected representatives had requested the postponement of the State Services Main Examination 2026. Considering these concerns, the Commission has decided to postpone all three examinations. Candidates will now have to wait for the announcement of new dates.
This Decision comes amid ongoing protests by candidates against the irregularities of various MPSC examinations. Students are raising questions about the alleged paper leak of the Drug Inspector exam and the conduct of the exams by MPSC.

The MPSC has also made a significant decision regarding the answer sheets of the State Service Main Examination 2025. Under this decision, the 2025 exam answer sheets will be re-evaluated.
According to the commission, several student organisations and students had raised objections to the evaluation of the 2025 State Service Main Examination answer sheets. The decision to re-evaluate has been made in light of these objections. The MPSC has also clarified that this is likely to delay the examination process.
High-level committee reviewing the examination system
A high-level committee, headed by senior official V. Radha, has been formed to review the Commission's current examination system. The committee has held extensive discussions with numerous candidates and other stakeholders.
It is also considering improved examination systems being adopted in various locations. According to the Commission, the committee's recommendations for improving the examination system are expected soon.
Shiv Sena Leader Demands Resignation Of MPSC Chairman
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray said his party had requested Governor Jishnu Dev Varma to postpone the exam and that his demand had been accepted. He expressed hope that the governor would also demand the resignation of the MPSC chairman.
Currently, the MPSC has not announced new dates for the three exams. The re-examination of answer sheets for the 2025 State Service Main Examination is likely to delay this exam process as well. Therefore, candidates will now have to wait for the Commission's next announcement.
