The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has brought out an updated Social Science textbook for Class 9th students. The title of the textbook is 'Understanding Society: India and Beyond ', and it is the second volume of the Class 9 Social Science textbook.

According to the press release from NCERT issued on 28 September 2026, this updated version of the textbook will hit the market from today, 29 September 2026. Students, teachers, parents, and other readers can buy the book through authorised NCERT outlets.

Students, teachers and other readers can now purchase the textbook through the NCERT Publication Division and its authorised vendors. The book will also be available through the official NCERT website and Amazon, as mentioned in the press release.

New Social Science Textbook for Class 9

For Class 9 students, the textbook titled 'Understanding Society: India and Beyond' focuses on social sciences. The second part of the textbook is now available.
