Bhola Shankar Box Office Collection Day 2: After a lukewarm start at the box office, the action-packed movie 'Bhola Shankar,' featuring renowned Telugu actor Chiranjeevi, struggled to make a considerable impression on its second day as well. Early estimates suggest that the film's performance on day two has been lacklustre, with an estimated collection of approximately Rs 7 crore.
Initially, 'Bhola Shankar' was projected to achieve a first-day revenue of Rs 20 crore. However, the movie fell short of this expectation, accumulating a mere Rs 16.25 crore on its first day. While this performance might be considered decent for other actors, it fell below par considering Chiranjeevi's stature as the lead.
This brings the total earnings of the film to Rs 23 crore. 'Bhola Shankar' faces stiff competition from three other major releases over the same weekend — Rajinikanth's 'Jailer,' Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2,' and Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2.'
In comparison, 'Gadar 2' amassed a substantial Rs 43 crore on its second day, while 'OMG 2' secured Rs 14.5 crore on Saturday. In contrast, Jailer accomplished the remarkable feat of surpassing the Rs 100 crore mark within a mere three days since its release.
Bhola Shankar is not only grappling with tough competition but is also facing negative feedback from reviewers who deem it an underwhelming remake of the Tamil movie 'Vedalam.' Directed by Meher Ramesh, 'Bhola Shankar,' also features prominent roles played by Tamannaah, Keerthy Suresh, and Sushanth.
About Bhola Shankar:
The film narrates the tale of Shankar, a young and naive man, who comes to the bustling city of Mumbai to chase his career aspirations. In this urban setting, he crosses paths with his childhood friend from their village, who has transformed into a mobster. Shankar's only family connection is his affluent uncle residing in the US. The uncle communicates that Shankar will inherit his wealth if he marries, otherwise, he intends to donate it.
After receiving this information, Shankar's friend fabricates false details, asserting that he is already married and a father. As a result, the uncle makes plans to visit Mumbai to meet Shankar's alleged family. This development marks a pivotal moment in the plot, as the ensuing events revolve around the intricate interactions between Shankar, his friend, the uncle, and a young widow with her child, as they collaborate to orchestrate a complex scenario.
