Bigg Boss OTT 3 contestant Naved Shaikh, popularly known as Naezy, recently shared a surprising revelation about the impact of the movie Gully Boy on his personal life. The Indian rapper from Mumbai, Maharashtra, opened up about his experiences on the reality show, shedding light on the unexpected consequences he faced following the film's release.

Naezy, who is renowned in the hip-hop community, revealed that the character Murad Ahmed in Gully Boy, played by Ranveer Singh, was inspired by his own life. Despite the film's success and its role in highlighting the hip-hop culture, Naezy admitted that the portrayal brought about unforeseen challenges.

In a promo released by JioCinema's Instagram handle, co-contestant Poulomi Polo Das asked Naezy if the film was based on him. Naezy confirmed, explaining, "Yes. Actually, many people were associated with that film. It represented the entire hip-hop culture. But the main character was inspired by me. Aafat song, my first song that went viral, they found me through that song."

While the film brought Naezy recognition, it also misrepresented certain aspects of his life. "It benefitted me subtly but also caused a lot of harm. In my personal life, they showed I had two girlfriends. They portrayed me as poor, which I wasn't to that extent. They showed me as a driver, which I am not. But in the Indian audience's mind, everyone thinks this is who Naezy is. So, it affected my personal life a bit," he shared.

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy was a critically acclaimed film that also marked the acting debut of Siddhant Chaturvedi. It featured prominent actors like Vijay Raaz, Vijay Varma, Amruta Subhash, Kalki Koechlin and Sheeba Chaddha. The movie was co-produced by Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment and Zoya Akhtar's Tiger Baby Films.
