Ranvir Shorey took everyone by surprise when he appeared as a contestant on Anil Kapoor’s Bigg Boss OTT 3. Despite having rejected the show multiple times in the past, he finally decided to participate. Interestingly, Ranvir had previously made a bold statement saying he would only join Bigg Boss “when I think I want to die.” His decision to enter the show after such a declaration has certainly caught the attention of fans and viewers, adding an intriguing twist to this season of the popular reality series. Ranvir's participation has sparked curiosity about his motivations and what changed his mind after all these years.

'I will go to Bigg Boss when I think I want to die'- Ranvir Shorey

Back in 2015, Ranvir Shorey said in an interview with Smitha Verma, “I will go to Bigg Boss when I think I want to die. Every year they call me and every year I ask them to call me next year. Luckily, every year I get some work to sail through the year.”

Recently, Ranvir Shorey opened up about joining the reality show, stating that he doesn’t have work. During the premiere of Bigg Boss OTT 3, fellow contestant Shivani Kumari approached Ranvir Shorey with a question about his identity and profession. Shorey's response was open and highlighted his current challenges. He said, "I am an actor. I did my first film in 1999. If I had work, why would I be here today? It’s great for you guys now with new technology – you can create your own work and earn. But we are from the old generation."

Ranvir Shorey's choice to participate in Bigg Boss OTT 3 comes at a time when he is facing a significant lack of opportunities in Bollywood. This isn't the first occasion where he has discussed his professional struggles. In a previous interview, Shorey candidly shared his feelings, stating, "I feel I’ve been deliberately sidelined by mainstream filmmakers, but I don’t let that bother me. If I start thinking about that, I’ll lose focus on what I need to do. I want to do more work. I have time but no work."

Apart from Ranvir Shorey, other contestants who have joined the show are Sai Ketan Rao, Chandrika Dixit, Vishal Pandey, Sana Sultan, Lovekesh Kataria, Maxtern, Sana Makbul, Sana Sultan, Armaan Malik and his two wives Payal Malik and Kritika Malik, Munisha Khatwani, Naezy, Poulomi Das, Neeraj Goyat, Shivani Kumari and Deepak Chaurasia.
