Bigg Boss OTT 3 is currently streaming on the JioCinema. The show is being hosted by Anil Kapoor. This season, one of the contestants entering the Bigg Boss house is Ranvir Shorey, a renowned actor currently at a pivotal point in his career. Recently, Shorey opened up about joining the reality show, stating that he doesn’t have work.
Ranvir Shorey says he has 'no work'
During the premiere of Bigg Boss OTT 3, fellow contestant Shivani Kumari approached Ranvir Shorey with a question about his identity and profession. Shorey's response was open and highlighted his current challenges. He said, "I am an actor. I did my first film in 1999. If I had work, why would I be here today? It’s great for you guys now with new technology – you can create your own work and earn. But we are from the old generation."
Ranvir Shorey's choice to participate in Bigg Boss OTT 3 comes at a time when he is facing a significant lack of opportunities in Bollywood. This isn't the first occasion where he has discussed his professional struggles. In a previous interview, Shorey candidly shared his feelings, stating, "I feel I’ve been deliberately sidelined by mainstream filmmakers, but I don’t let that bother me. If I start thinking about that, I’ll lose focus on what I need to do. I want to do more work. I have time but no work."
Shorey's candid remarks reflect the difficulties he has encountered in maintaining a steady career in the film industry. Despite his extensive experience and past success, he finds himself grappling with the reality of fewer job offers and the evolving nature of the industry, which increasingly favours new technology and self-created content. His participation in Bigg Boss OTT 3 symbolises a new chapter and a possible avenue to reconnect with audiences and revitalise his career.
Apart from Ranvir Shorey, other contestants who have joined the show are Sai Ketan Rao, Chandrika Dixit, Vishal Pandey, Sana Sultan, Lovekesh Kataria, Maxtern, Sana Makbul, Sana Sultan, Armaan Malik and his two wives Payal Malik and Kritika Malik, Munisha Khatwani, Naezy, Poulomi Das, Neeraj Goyat, Shivani Kumari and Deepak Chaurasia.
