BLACKPINK members are undisputedly the queens of Kpop, reigning over the music charts and putting the fashion world on fire as they represent global brands as their ambassadors. The girl group known for chart-topping songs like ‘How You Like That’ and ‘Pink Venom’, recently announced the contract renewal for group activities with their label YG Entertainment. However, the suspense around their solo contracts is over as YG has made an official announcement about the members’ solo plans on December 29. The group members have not renewed their exclusive solo contracts with the label.
According to the news website Soompi, the official announcement released by YG Entertainment stated, “Hello, this is YG Entertainment.
BLACKPINK recently renewed their contracts with YG for their group activities, and we have agreed not to proceed with additional contracts for [the members’] individual activities.
We will do our utmost to support BLACKPINK’s activities, and we will cheer on the members’ individual activities with warm hearts.
Thank you.”

The recent announcement has taken social media on fire as BLINKs started expressing their views about the group's future. Fans are happy that the members will have the creative liberty to follow their paths while functioning as BLACKPINK for group activities. The band's eldest member and vocalist Jisoo is expected to focus on her acting career. She made her Kdrama debut in JTBC's 2021 drama 'Snowdrop' alongside Jung Hae-in. She will be next seen in the upcoming drama 'Influenza' (a Zombie-Thriller) reportedly alongside Park Jung-min.

The group's leader and rapper Jennie recently announced her own company (and label) 'Odd Atelier' on Instagram indicating her future plans while the other two members Lisa and Rosé are expected to continue making music while doing other activities overseas. The recent developments indicate a new chapter in the musical journey of BLACKPINK.
