BLACKPINK’s Jisoo delighted fans as she revealed her upcoming drama ‘Influenza’ during an appearance at the Incheon International Airport in South Korea. The ‘Flower’ singer on questions asked by BLINKS at the airport replied that she would start filming for the drama at the end of December. 

According to a fan account, one of the fans asked her, “Can I be the zombie extra in Influenza?” to which the Dior global ambassador replied, “It’s tough, there are many actions you gotta take lessons”. When asked about the release date for the casting notice, she assured that it would be released soon.

Early reports in August suggested that Jisoo would star alongside Park Jung-min. 'Influenza' is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by author Han Sang-woon and is written by the highly acclaimed ‘Parasite’ writer Han Jin Won. The story revolves around soldier Jaeyoon and his girlfriend Yeongju as they face a zombie apocalypse.

Jisoo is gearing up for her second drama post her debut in 2021 with the JTBC drama ‘Snowdrop’ alongside Jung Hae-in. Jisoo appeared as a young literature student in 1987-Korea as she met a North Korean soldier and fell in love with him despite dangerous situations. The news of Jisoo’s comeback in the K-drama world comes amidst the contract renewal of BLACKPINK’s members (Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo) with YG Entertainment. Jisoo recently became the most-awarded soloist at the MAMA 2023 awards with three wins in the 'Best Female Artist', 'Best Female Solo Dance Performance', and 'Best Music Video' categories.
