BTS RM, also known as Kim Nam-joon, recently took to Instagram to share an update about his military journey. On December 17, the idol uploaded a screenshot from the Goondori app, a national military service calculator, celebrating his promotion to fifth-level corporal. The caption read, "Goodbye, my last seniors! Yes... (I can't believe) I, who is a corporal of 5 months, am the highest senior!"

This promotion signifies that RM has just six months left before completing his mandatory military service, with his discharge expected in June 2025. The news has sparked excitement and anticipation among ARMYs (BTS fans), who eagerly await his return.

Fans couldn’t help but express their mixed emotions—missing the artist while also cheering him on as he nears the end of his service. Many took to social media platforms to joke about RM’s candidness regarding his military experience. "I love how he doesn’t even pretend to like it LMAO," commented one fan. Another added, "He is loud and clear he’s not having it there, free my boy!"

RM’s recent military photos, including his profile screenshot from the Goondori app, have added to the excitement. His post reflects his own eagerness to finish his service and return to his music career, a sentiment that fans wholeheartedly share.

Before enlisting, RM made a significant mark as a solo artist. His official solo debut album, Indigo, was released in December 2022, featuring the title track Wild Flower. The album received widespread acclaim, showcasing his introspective lyrics and artistry.

In May 2024, RM released his second studio album, Right Place, Wrong Person, which was pre-recorded before his enlistment. Despite being away from the entertainment industry since then, his work continues to be celebrated by fans and critics alike. While RM serves in the South Korean military’s Special Task Force of the Capital Defense Command, fans are counting down the days to his discharge. His latest update marks a milestone in his military journey and serves as a reminder of his unwavering connection with fans.
