BTS V, also known as Kim Taehyung, took a moment to interact with ARMYs on September 8, 2024, through Weverse, offering fans a glimpse into his life as he serves in the military. His update coincided with a significant milestone—his first studio album, Layover, completed a year on September 7 and fans worldwide celebrated the occasion with excitement and love.

BTS V, despite his busy military schedule, made time to connect with ARMYs through Weverse. During the interaction, he shared a heartwarming and amusing moment about seeing a fan-made photo outside his military camp. In his Weverse post, V wrote, “Hey, there was a photo put up in front of the military camp that I saw while running, my face became red on seeing it.” His playful embarrassment resonated with ARMYs, who were thrilled to hear from him during his service.

When asked how he was doing, V responded with his signature charm, writing, “Heh... it’s hard [cutely]... I came to get some energy [from you guys].. I’ll come back again next time.” The interaction sparked a wave of affection from fans, who were delighted to hear from the singer as he continues his military duties.

As BTS V updated fans from the military, ARMYs worldwide were busy celebrating the one-year anniversary of his solo debut album, Layover. The album, which was released on September 8, 2023, became an instant hit and is still cherished by fans a year later. To mark the special day, fans organized various celebrations, both online and offline.

On platforms like X (formerly Twitter), ARMYs trended hashtags, shared memories and posted fan art and videos. Some fans hosted “Tae” parties, complete with themed decorations, while others baked cupcakes to celebrate the occasion. Iconic moments from the Layover era were revisited, with fans reflecting on the emotional connection they felt with V’s music.

The lead track Slow Dancing and the accompanying serene music video were fondly remembered, along with the album’s other songs: Rainy Days, Blue, Love Me Again, For Us and the piano version of Slow Dancing. Every track had its own music video, except for the piano version, adding a visual layer to V’s artistic expression.

BTS V’s solo debut album Layover was a monumental success from the moment it was released. On its first day, the album sold over 1.67 million copies, setting a new record for the highest-selling album by a Kpop artist on the Hanteo chart’s first-day sales. It also debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 albums chart, making V one of the highest-charting Kpop soloists at the time.

Fans not only celebrated the album’s success but also BTS V’s growth as a solo artist. His previous solo songs, such as Scenery (2019), Winter Bear and Snow Flower, had already showcased his talents, but Layover was a testament to his evolution and versatility as a musician.

As fans continue to celebrate the first anniversary of Layover, they eagerly await more updates from V, both from his military life and his musical journey. His recent single, FRI(END)S, released on March 15, 2024, with a captivating time-loop-themed music video, further cemented his place as a beloved artist.

Later. Kim Taehyung also dropped an elevator mirror selfie on Weverse to surprise the fans and joined a KakaoTalk chat group dedicated to him. He claimed that he joined the particular group because the password was easier than other groups. He also shared a photo of his pet dog Yeontan and praised BTS RM's latest song collaboration titled Neva Play.
