BTS member V aka Kim Taehyung has dedicated his heart and soul to the military. The Kpop idol has achieved remarkable accomplishments in his unit. Taehyung has been ranked first in target shooting and first in the winter urban warfare training. This came to learning after a fellow soldier of V shared a heartfelt message online in which he expressed his admiration for the Kpop star.
He wrote on his Instagram handle, “Taehyung-i-hyung, there were so many things that I am grateful for during my military life, but I can't put them all into words so I can express my sincere heart like this.”
The note further read, “My body, including shoulders and thighs, is not feeling well overall, but I got a lot of stimulation when I saw him receiving the 1st place in full-arm shooting, 1st place in winter city training and shooting, and even received the Military Police Exemplary Award for injury stabbing. And at the last stamina measurement with my brother, when we were running 3km together, trying to make it special, we pulled each other and cheered on each other, and we came in much earlier than the special standard, it was totally awesome, and I think it will be a lot of memories."
"And the time when I went to exercise with Seong-hyun, rain or snow, thanks to the equipment my brother donated, sweating in a much better environment are all precious memories. Again, I was very grateful that I bought a lot of delicious food when I went to PX when I went out. I still can't get over the eel sushi especially my brother bought me. It was really good," he stated.
“Most of all, thanks to the consistency and passion shown by my brother, I was able to push my dream of becoming a rehabilitation therapist even harder and not give up on my exercise and studies throughout my military career. Even after discharge, I have more passion to run towards my dreams,” he further added.
BTS’ V is currently serving in the Special Duty Team (SDT) of the Republic of Korea Military Police Force. He began his service in December 2022 and will be discharged on June 10, 2025.
