The most-anticipated trailer of Netflix's upcoming movie Chamkila is finally out. Starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles, the film revolves around the life of rising star of Punjab, Amar Singh Chamkila, who was shot dead at th age of 27. The movie is directed and co-produced by Imtiaz Ali, while the music has been given by music maestro A.R. Rahman.

The trailer of ‘Chamkila’ delves into the life journey of Amar Singh Chamkila, highlighting his challenges in carving out his own identity within the Punjabi industry. Amidst his struggles, he encounters Amarjot, portrayed by Parineeti Chopra, whose significant role catalyses Amar Singh Chamkila's ascent as a prominent figure in Punjab's music scene.

Tragically, Amar Singh Chamkila's narrative is cut short by a devastating event as he, along with Amarjot, meets an untimely demise at the tender age of 27. Their story underscores both the triumphs and tragedies that often accompany the pursuit of artistic success.

Chamkila OTT Release Date

Netflix announced the release date of Chamkila. The official Instagram handle of the OTT giant read, "Sharing the video, Netflix wrote, "Maahaul bann jaata tha jab vo chedta tha saaz, kuch aisa hi tha Chamkila ka Andaaz (banjo emoji) (A crowd would gather when he sang, such was his style). @imtiazaliofficial ’s AmarSinghChamkila arriving on 12 April, only on Netflix!" Chamkila marks Diljit and director Imtiaz Ali's first on-screen collaboration."
