BTS V recently found himself at the centre of a controversy after claims by Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of ADOR, stirred questions about his adherence to military regulations. During a live broadcast, Min Hee Jin mentioned that V called her occasionally from the military and even sent a birthday message early in the morning. This statement raised eyebrows as trainees are generally believed to have restricted access to mobile phones during their training period.
In response, a netizen filed a formal complaint alleging that V violated military laws or received special privileges. However, the Military Police Petition Response Officer from the 802nd Military Police Battalion clarified the matter. The military confirmed that trainees can use their phones for one hour daily during designated rest periods, typically on weekends and holidays. They revealed that V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, used his phone during the permitted afternoon hours, not in the early morning as claimed. This directly refutes Min Hee Jin’s statement about receiving a dawn message.

Regarding allegations of preferential treatment, the military stated there is no evidence to suggest that V was granted special privileges to use his phone outside the allowed time slots due to his celebrity status.
Addressing whether V contacted Min Hee Jin, the military emphasized that call and message records could not be disclosed due to the Personal Information Protection and Telecommunications Privacy Act. As a result, Min Hee Jin’s claim about receiving a morning birthday message remains unverified. With the military’s clarification, fans are now questioning the accuracy of Min Hee Jin’s remarks during the broadcast. Many wonder if her statement unintentionally included incorrect details, leading to the controversy.
