Shockingly, it turned out to be a publicity stunt orchestrated by Pandey and her team to raise awareness about the disease. Contrary to rumours, news agency PTI (Press Trust of India) citing sources from the Union Health Ministry confirmed that Pandey is not being considered as the brand ambassador for the government's national campaign on cervical cancer awareness
In a video posted on her Instagram, Pandey clarified her stunt, emphasizing the importance of spreading awareness about cervical cancer. She highlighted the preventable nature of the disease through the HPV vaccine and early detection tests, urging women to empower each other with critical knowledge.
