Rajinikanth's Paying Reverence To Younger CM Yogi Adityanath Controversy: On Monday, acclaimed South actor Rajinikanth stated that regardless of a person's age, he has a practice of prostrating before a 'sanyasi' or 'yogi'. He made these comments in reply to a journalist's question concerning the "controversy" generated by his act of touching the feet of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during his recent visit to Lucknow.

Whiel addressing the media, he said, "Whether a sanyasi or a yogi, it is my habit to fall at their feet even if they are younger than me. That’s what I did."

Rajinikanth's action had sparked a significant online discussion, particularly within Tamil Nadu, with numerous people questioning whether it was appropriate for the 72-year-old actor to bow down to the considerably younger Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Taking to the microblogging site, X, "Courtesy meeting with eminent film actor Mr. Rajinikanth at my official residence in Lucknow today."

Rajinikanth has embarked on a spiritual expedition. A day before the release of 'Jailer,' he travelled to the Himalayas for a period of spiritual retreat. During his journey, he visited significant destinations such as the Kedarnath temple and Rajarappa temple.

His trips took him across various regions, spanning from Uttarakhand and Ranchi to Uttar Pradesh. In addition to his meeting with CM Yogi at his residence, the superstar also had a meeting with Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav at his residence in Lucknow.

The actor has a customary practice of undertaking a peaceful retreat to the tranquil Himalayas upon completing each film. After a prolonged hiatus resulting from health considerations and the pandemic, the actor has recommenced his spiritual expedition to the Himalayas.
