Thalapathy Vijay’s much-anticipated film Jana Nayagan, which was expected to serve as a grand celebration for fans, continues to face multiple hurdles. The film’s theatrical release remains uncertain, and the latest reports suggest that another major setback has emerged regarding its digital streaming plans. According to several media reports, Amazon Prime Video has stepped away from its post-theatrical OTT deal for the film. The platform had earlier acquired the digital streaming rights for approximately Rs 120 crore.

However, the deal is now reportedly revoked due to the ongoing uncertainty around the film’s release timeline. With no clear update on certification and the theatrical launch, the streaming platform is said to have reconsidered its agreement.

The delay is reportedly linked to issues with the CBFC, which has not yet granted the censor certificate for Jana Nayagan. Reports suggest the board raised objections to certain scenes considered sensitive, leading to the film being referred to the CBFC’s Revising Committee. A screening for the committee was scheduled for March 9 but was reportedly cancelled at the last minute after a member fell ill, causing further delays in the review process.

Jana Nayagan is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions. The film stars Vijay in the lead role, alongside Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, and Narain in key roles.
