South Korean actor Kim Soo-Hyun has found himself caught in controversy after a YouTube channel claimed he was in a six-year-long relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-Ron. The allegations, made by Garosero Research Institute, have sparked widespread discussion, prompting a strong response from the actor’s agency, Gold Medalist.
Following the viral claims, Kim Soo-Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, issued an official statement firmly denying all allegations. They called the accusations “false” and “malicious,” stating that they had no basis in reality. The agency criticized the YouTube channel for spreading misinformation and for disrespecting Kim Sae-Ron, who passed away earlier this year.
Gold Medalist also addressed other claims made in the YouTube video, including allegations that the company mishandled Kim Sae-Ron’s DUI case and that Kim Soo-Hyun was involved in the harassment. The agency condemned these statements and announced plans to take strong legal action against those responsible for spreading false information.

In their official response, Gold Medalist expressed their grief over Kim Sae-Ron’s passing while also emphasizing the harm caused by online speculation. They stated:
"GOLD MEDALIST is deeply saddened by the passing of the late Kim Sae-Ron, who was once part of the agency, and we mourn her loss. However, the dissemination of such false information mirrors the very ‘cyber wrecking’ that the late Kim Sae-Ron suffered from during her lifetime. These actions are solely for the personal gain of the YouTuber, defaming both the company and the deceased. We will respond to these allegations with zero tolerance."
The agency urged the public and media outlets not to further spread or amplify these baseless claims. The controversy began when Garosero Research Institute alleged that Kim Soo-Hyun had been romantically involved with Kim Sae-Ron since 2015, when she was just 15 years old. At that time, Kim Soo-Hyun was 27. The claims were further fueled by comments from Kim Sae-Ron’s aunt, who accused the actor of contributing to her niece’s struggles.
