Kumar Sanu is the iconic playback singer known for his golden voice in many superhit songs of the 1990s era in Bollywood. Imagine a song so good that it becomes a classic—yet it almost never made it to the big screen! This was nearly the fate of Ek Din Aap Yunhi Mil Jayenge, a timeless track from Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla's 1997 film Yes Boss. The iconic playback singer Kumar Sanu recently shared the surprising story behind the song.

Sanu, who has delivered countless hits throughout his illustrious career, recalled how Ek Din Aap Yunhi Mil Jayenge was almost left on the cutting room floor. "We recorded it, but it wasn’t included in the film at first," he revealed, reflecting on how easily the song could have been lost to time. The track was initially sidelined due to a lack of space in the film’s storyline, leaving the producers and director in a dilemma. "They said, ‘This song is so good, it will definitely be loved by everyone. What should we do with it?’” Sanu recounted in a conversation with News18.

Faced with this conundrum, the team made a bold decision to include the song in the title sequence rather than scrapping it altogether. This creative gamble paid off in spades. "Believe it or not, that song became the biggest hit of the album," Sanu shared with pride. Despite not having a full-fledged music video, Ek Din Aap Yunhi Mil Jayenge quickly became the standout track of the Yes Boss soundtrack, resonating with audiences and becoming a cultural touchstone.
