Kajol, one of Bollywood’s most respected and beloved actresses, has always left a strong mark on Indian cinema with her natural acting and iconic roles. Two of her most unforgettable movies are Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995). Both movies, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan, became instant classics and are still loved by fans across generations. Their memorable characters, timeless dialogues, and romantic plots have made them part of Bollywood history. However, Kajol recently shared why she doesn’t believe these classics should be touched for sequels.

Kajol, in an interview with Pinkvilla, was asked about the possibility of returning for a Kuch Kuch Hota Hai sequel. She said, “People say you should make Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 2 when you grow older and fall in love again with Shah Rukh Khan and I'm like... the thing is, that Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was great because it was a different set of people, it was a different world.” She explained that the film’s emotional charm came from the unique storyline and the time it was made. According to her, such pure, once-in-a-lifetime love stories are difficult to recreate in today’s fast-paced world.

Kajol also addressed the idea of making a sequel to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, another romantic masterpiece that changed Bollywood forever. Laughing off the thought, she said, “Like I can’t imagine a DDLJ 2. Like what happened after the train? No one wants to know. Do you really want to know if they fought over the diapers or not?” She feels the beauty of DDLJ lies in its perfect ending—one that lets the audience dream about what happens next, rather than showing it.

In the same interview, Kajol spoke about how she has turned down major film roles in the past, including the blockbuster 3 Idiots. Still, she has no regrets. “I feel that those films were theirs, you know, jaise bolte hain na jiska likha hua hai usko hi milta hai..toh, I think that I have done very well for myself without them,” she said.
