Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming Tamil movie Jana Nayagan is creating major buzz online, particularly as it’s speculated to be the actor’s final film before he makes a full-time shift into politics. Although the filmmakers of Jana Nayagan had planned a grand farewell celebration for Vijay on his final day of shooting, the actor humbly declined the gesture. According to a report by Let’s Cinema, Vijay tends to get emotional during the last day of filming and preferred to keep the moment low-key rather than turn it into a public spectacle.

Jana Nayagan has already made headlines for its record-breaking deals. According to a report in Deccan Herald, Jana Nayagan has secured a massive satellite rights agreement with Sun TV for Rs 55 crore. Furthermore, Amazon Prime Video has reportedly acquired the OTT rights for an astonishing Rs 121 crore, reflecting high expectations for the movie’s success. The Tamil movie is slated for a theatrical release on 9th January 2026.

About The Tamil Movie Jana Nayagan

Musically, Jana Nayagan is also shaping up to be a treat. The soundtrack is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with rising star Hanumankind who has confirmed to lend his voice for one of the songs. Directed by H. Vinoth, the Tamil movie features an impressive ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, and Priyamani, among others.

In a noteworthy move, the makers of Jana Nayagan have purchased the remake rights to Bhagavanth Kesari, the 2023 action drama starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, for Rs 4.5 crore. Reportedly, Thalapathy Vijay was particularly struck by a scene addressing the concept of ‘Good Touch, Bad Touch’ and was adamant about incorporating a similar message in his movie.

On the professional front, Vijay was last seen in the Tamil action thriller movie GOAT: The Greatest Of All Time, where he played a dual role.
