Kajol has praised her daughter Nysa Devgn for handling the pressures of public scrutiny, paparazzi culture and social media trolling with remarkable strength and composure. As a fiercely protective mother, Kajol is proud of how the 22-year-old Nysa navigates these challenges.

In a conversation with Zoom, Kajol said that today's girls expect to be treated well with same dignity and good manners. "When I look at her, I feel, my God, she is the woman we all want to be. It is this amazing quality which today's girls have, that they expect to be treated well. They expect to be treated with the same dignity. They expect good manners. If you are not there, they call you out," she said.

Kajol went on to state, "I am very proud of her. I have said that to her as well. I am proud of the fact that she carries herself with so much dignity and grace. I think it is always a test of your character when you are faced with uncomfortable situations, and how you react to them. It shows your true mettle. I am proud of my upbringing and my daughter."

Kajol is gearing up for her upcoming highly-anticipated movie Maa. Maa has been directed by Vishal Furia and bankrolled by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande. It has been co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. The movie also stars Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma and Ronit Roy. It is about a mother who transforms into Maa Kali to end a demonic curse rooted in fear, blood, and betrayal. The movie will have its theatrical release on June 27, 2025.
