The popular TV serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is rebooting, sparking nostalgia among fans who still fondly remember Smriti Irani's iconic role as Tulsi and Amar Upadhyay's portrayal of Mihir Virani. While the new season promises to bring back beloved characters, some original cast members have sadly passed away. Let's take a moment to remember a few of them:

Dinesh Thakur

Dinesh Thakur, known for his role as Govardhan Virani in the popular TV serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, was a renowned theatre actor and director who also made a mark in Bollywood. He worked in several acclaimed films, including Mere Apne, Rajnigandha and Ghar, for which he won the Filmfare Best Story Award in 1979. Thakur passed away on September 20, 2012, due to complications from kidney failure at the age of 65.

Inder Kumar

The character of Mihir Virani in the show was initially portrayed by Amar Upadhyay, but he later left the role, which was then taken over by Inder Kumar. Sadly, Inder Kumar passed away in 2017 due to cardiac arrest.

Sudha Shivpuri

Sudha Shivpuri, renowned for her iconic role as "Baa" in the popular TV serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, passed away on May 20, 2015, due to multiple organ failure. She had suffered a heart attack in 2014 and had been unwell since then.

Narendra Jha

Narendra Jha, known for his roles in films like Haider, Raees, Kaabil and Race 3, as well as the TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, passed away on March 14, 2018, due to a massive heart attack at his farmhouse in Wada, Nashik. He was 54 years old and had suffered two previous heart attacks. Jha was a talented actor who had made a mark in both Bollywood and television, and his sudden death shocked the industry.

Sameer Sharma

TV actor Sameer Sharma, known for his roles in popular shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, tragically passed away in 2020. His body was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his Malad apartment's kitchen. According to the police, Sharma had likely died two days prior to the discovery of his body. The investigation revealed no suicide note and authorities suspected financial difficulties might have contributed to his actions.

Abir Goswami

Abir Goswami, a popular TV actor known for his role in "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi," passed away in 2013 due to a cardiac arrest while running on a treadmill.

Vikas Sethi

Vikas Sethi, known for his roles in TV shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahin To Hoga, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, and Sasural Simar Ka, passed away on September 8, 2024, due to a cardiac arrest. He was 48. According to his wife, Jhanvi Sethi, Vikas had been feeling unwell with vomiting and diarrhea but refused to go to the hospital, opting for a home visit from a doctor instead. He died in his sleep and his body was later sent for a post-mortem at Cooper Hospital in Mumbai.
