In a conversation with Screen, Pritam Da revealed that Arijit was singing nonstop for quite some time and might feel exhausted from singing due to his engagements in commercial music.
He said, “He was singing so many songs, maybe he doesn’t feel like singing for now. Sometimes directors also put pressure on us. It's tough to say no at times, even for me. Just give him some time, and he will be okay.”
The composer added further, “Artists never retire, but they take a break and focus on something new that is more interesting to them. Now, Arijit is directing a really good film too.”

One incident which made both of them laugh was when Arijit had told him, “The day you retire, I’ll also retire.” To everyone’s surprise, the singer announced the break from playback singing on the very next day and later joked to Pritam, “Aapse nahi hoga.”
