Narivetta Box Office Collection Day 1: Tovino Thomas and Suraj Venjaramoodu starrer Malayalam political action drama movie released in theatres on May 23. The film received mixed reviews from the audience and the critics. Narivetta is based on Kerala’s 2003 Muthanga Incident. Tovino plays a police officer in the movie, whose acting was heavily praised by the audience and the critics. Despite such good mouth of words, the film could not make a box office impression. Narivetta could not even make Rs 2 crore at the box office.

As per Sacnilk, Narivetta earned Rs 1.75 crore on the opening day. The film had 34.34 per cent Malayalam occupancy on Friday. It had 21.97 per cent occupancy in the morning shows, 28.73 per cent in the afternoon shows, 34.96 per cent in the evening shows and 51.71 per cent in the night shows.

According to reports, the film was made on a budget of around Rs 10 crore. The exact figure of the film has not been disclosed yet.
About Narivetta
The story follows a global examination of state-sanctioned violence through policing. The movie explores how power structures are meant to protect people, which can transform into a system of control, affecting marginalised communities. The movie stars Tovino Thomas as an Armed Police constable named Varghese Peter, Suraj Venjaramoodu played the role of Head constable named Basheer Muhammed, Cheran as DIG R. Keshavadas IPS, Saiju Kurup as Nagesh, Priyamvada Krishnan and Rini Udayakumar in key roles. The film has been written by Abin Joseph and directed by Anuraj Manohar. Narivetta has been produced by Tippushan and Shiyas Hassan.
While sharing the trailer’s poster, the makers of the film wrote on Instagram, “Narivettai Official Trailer Out Now! #Narivettai In Cinemas May 23.”
