Aamir Khan and Rajkumari Hirani share a magical creative bond, as the duo has given two popular movies - PK and 3 Idiots, which went on to become fan favourites in the comedy genre. Their collaboration is popular for seamlessly blending comedy with drama and emotions. Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani were gearing up to reunite for their third project together. Earlier in May this year, the actor announced that he would be joining hands with Rajkumar Hirani for a biopic on the father of Indian cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke. However, it seems the project has been put on hold due to Aamir’s particular demand.

Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming project was reportedly expected to go on the floors soon, but now the work has been put on hold for some time. As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, a source claimed, “Aamir Khan heard the script of Dadasaheb Phalke from Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. He felt that the script didn’t have enough elements to make it suitable for a theatrical release. He expected Raju and Abhijat to follow their usual approach of blending laughter with emotion and drama. But the script lacked comedy, which raised doubts in Aamir’s mind, prompting him to ask Raju to rewrite it.”

The source further mentioned that Rajkumar and Abhijat, both were shocked at Aamir Khan’s request and have been considering the next steps. According to the source, the movie which was scheduled to go on floors from October 2025, has been pushed ahead. “Everything is currently at a standstill, and Aamir has already begun exploring other scripts, hearing stories from across industries,” the report stated.
